A note for the August bank holiday

Hello,

How's your summer going?

Five years ago today we returned from an amazing holiday travelling across South Africa. During that trip I made the decision to leave my job and employer of 26 years and “go for it” with my own business. I’d started Hiltingbury Interiors two years prior, alongside corporate career, and had been juggling the two jobs in a part-time capacity.

Looking back it’s been quite a five years and I’m proud to say the business has gone from strength to strength. We survived Covid, moved the business out of home, relocated a couple of times and now are very happy to be in our own studio, just where I’d always dreamed we’d be one day!

The business is also no longer a one-women-band either, thankfully! I’m a “people person” and get very bored of my own company. It was also important to recognise that I couldn't keep “doing it all” when the business was growing steadily but surely.
As we celebrate our fifth anniversary and our 100th client project, I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce you to the other members of the HI team.

I think everyone knows Bex, she’s been assisting with design work, looking after our clients, liaising with our suppliers and keeping me organised for the last 18 months…. Not sure what I ever did without her now!

Some of you will also know Alison. We’ve worked together closely for the last 25 years and I’m delighted that Ali is now project managing our HI build and refurbishment projects. Ali has also been the driving force behind the new studio fit out. She has worked her socks off and kept me on track whilst juggling everything else.

Rachel is the newest member of our team, looking after our marketing and social media. Rachel has worked in the design world for a number of years. She is passionate about Interiors, a whizz on Instagram and always out and about in Winchester. It’s great to have Rachel on board with us.

I’m very grateful for their hard work and support over the last few months, and I look forward to growing the business with them going forward.
